If you are considering
, let me tell you there are some things you can do to increase your chance of success. In this article, I will discuss one way you can improve your odds of getting pregnant that can make a big difference in your success.
: Cervical mucus is a very important ingredient when you are attempting to get pregnant, but you probably have not thought about it too much. First, your cervical mucus changes texture during your monthly cycle, and it’s important to be aware of these changes. When the cervical mucus (or fluid) begins to get clear and stretchy–similar to raw eggwhites–this is a sign that you are going to ovulate soon.
: It’s a fact that sperm can live for several days inside a woman’s body if the environment is right. So if you have intercourse up to 5 or 6 days prior to ovulating, you can still get pregnant if the sperm stay alive inside you. And what helps them to do that? Good quality cervical fluid does! Equally important to note, the egg can only survive for about 12-24 hours after it is released, so it’s crucial that the sperm are “waiting” when ovulation happens.
Here’s some good news…there are some things you can do which can have a dramatic impact on the quantity and quality of your cervical fluid. Here are several suggestions:
Tip: Drink lots of water–at least 8 cups per day. This can have a tremendous effect on the quality of your cervical fluid.
Tip: Eat baby carrots. They are known to have a very high amount of beta carotene in them, and this will improve your cervical fluid.
Tip: Use Robitussin–the plain kind with no extra ingredients. It works on bodily secretions to loosen up and thin them out.
If you try out these suggestions you will probably discover that your cervical mucus is more plentiful and of better quality. This will make it much more likely that the sperm can stay alive for several days until ovulation occurs. Don’t forget, this means you should be having sex a few days before your anticipated ovulation.
And that is just one of the
that can make a big difference in your success!
